Srirangam is considered to be one of the important self-manifested (Swayam Vyakta Kshetras) Lord Vishnu temples. The facts do not end there; it is also one of the most significant among the 108 main Vishnu temples (108 Divyadesams). Srirangam temple is fondly known on "Bhoologa Vaikundam" (Heaven on Earth). The temple area is spread to almost 156 acres and has seven enclosures with 21 glorious towers on all sides.

The main deity in this temple, as the name suggests is Lord Ranganatha.  The temple not only consists of Ayiram Kaal Mandapam (1000 pillars hall) but also comprises of several water bodies inside it. The Rajagopuram (grand entrance tower) is 237 feet tall and is widely acknowledged as the tallest temple towers in the whole of Asia. The temple attracts more than 1 million visitors during December - January period.

The Jambukeswarar Temple is located in Thiruvanaikaval, a suburb of Trichy city located in close proximity to Srirangam. The Thiruvanaikaval temple is one among the five major temples of Lord Shiva (Panchaboodha sthalam) exemplifying the element of water. The main deity Jambukeswarar (Appu lingam) features a belowground water stream which fills the holy place throughout the year.

The Woraiyur Vekkaliamman Temple is located just 7 km away from the city center. The main deity of the temple is Sri Vekkaliamman residing in the sanctum which is roofless - open to all weather conditions. Samayapuram Mariamman temple is located 12 km north of Tiruchirappalli. The main deity of the temple is Mariamman the goddess, which is believed to be of immense power to cure any kind of illness. The idol is made of sand and is not offered abhishekha to the main deity like any other Hindu temples. The devotees of this temple offer Maavilakku ( a sweet dish made of flour, ghee and jaggery), rock salt, etc. Samayapuram Mariamman temple is the second most affluent temples in Tamilnadu. The Gunaseelam Vishnu temple is located approximately 20 km from Trichy city. It is an ancient temple which is of 5000 years old where the main deity is Prasanna Venkatachalapathy (Lord Vishnu) with the goddess Lakshmi on chest. The name Gunaseelam actually entails (Guna-Cure + Seelam-Place); the temple is believed to cure the mentally challenged people after the stay of 48 days according to the practices. The Thirumanjanam ritual will be observed every day throughout the year at this temple unlike other Vishnu temples across the state.

The 1200 years-old temple is located in Vayalur village, which is 9 km away from Trichy. The main deity of the temple is Lord Subramaniya along with Sri Valli and Deivayanai.
